Why applications get rejected, and what to fix
Rejections often come from simple, fixable things rather than a lack of skill.
Your expertise is not visible
A reviewer has seconds. If the role asks for a licensed accountant and your resume says “finance professional”, name the licence, the year and the work you did. Put the most relevant experience at the top.
Country or language mismatch
Many projects are limited to certain countries or native speakers of a language, and the listing does not always say so loudly. Read eligibility before applying, and make your location and languages clear on your profile.
Duplicate or rushed applications
Applying to the same project twice, or submitting with an empty or generic profile, can get you filtered out. Finish your profile once, properly, then apply.
The assessment, not the resume
Many rejections happen at the test stage. See the qualification test guide for what reviewers look for.
Try more than one platform
Each platform has different projects open at different times. A rejection from one says little about your chances on another.
These guides are general information, not legal, tax or career advice. Check each platform’s own terms before you apply.
