AI annotation work for software engineers

Coding projects pay for engineers who can read, test and explain code, not only write it.

What the tasks look like

Reviewing model-written code for bugs and bad practice, writing reference solutions and tests, comparing two implementations, and creating hard programming problems with clear acceptance criteria.

What platforms ask for

Strong skills in one or two languages, often Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Java, C++ or Go, and the ability to explain trade-offs in writing. Some projects want specific frameworks or domains.

Expect a coding test

Most platforms include a timed task. Write readable code, handle edge cases, and explain your approach briefly. Do not use AI assistants unless allowed.

How to show it

List languages with years used and the kind of systems you built. A short line on testing or code review experience is worth adding.

These guides are general information, not legal, tax or career advice. Check each platform’s own terms before you apply.
