How to choose which platforms to join
Joining every platform is slow. Pick a few that fit your field, country and the kind of work you want.
Start from the work, not the brand
Filter the role list by your field and see which platforms actually have open roles for it right now. A well-known platform with nothing in your field is less useful than a smaller one with three live roles.
Check eligibility early
Some platforms only accept certain countries or require a degree or licence. Read this before you spend time on an assessment.
Read reviews from people who did the work
Platform pages on Remotefolio show thumbs up or down and comments, with a tag when the reviewer says they worked with the platform. Look for comments on pay timing, onboarding and how much work was available.
Two or three is enough to start
Spread your chances across a few platforms with live roles in your field, finish their onboarding properly, and add more later if work is thin.
